An IFOM Researcher
The average impact factor for IFOM's published articles in 2003, totals 13.539
Undoubtedly an impressive number, especially if we take into consideration the fact that, out of the thousands of scientific magazines published in the world, less than one hundred have an impact factor greater than 10.
Amongst subjects covered: nanotechnologies, bioinformatics, angiogenesis, transmission of the cellular signal, molecular genetics of leukaemia, genome stability, proliferation and cell aging.
IFOM research groups have worked together both to define the map of chromosome 7, which contains genes connected to the onset of autism and some forms of tumour (Science, 2 May 2003), and to identify a crucial protein production mechanism (Nature, 4 December 2003).
